These are typical UK mattress sizes. Confirm the exact mattress and bed frame dimensions with the store, especially when matching an existing bed.

Allow for the whole bed.
Get the overall width, length and height of the bed, including the headboard and any footboard. A mattress labelled “double” does not mean every double bed frame has the same footprint.
Leave space for everyday use.
Mark the bed’s footprint on the floor. Check doors, drawers, wardrobes, bedside furniture and the routes you use around the room. If there is storage in the bed, allow for the space needed to open it.
Think about the delivery route.
Measure entrances, hallways, stairs and tight turns. Share those details with the store and ask about packaging, assembly and access before agreeing your delivery.
